In this critical analysis of the CSVRA and APRM frameworks, the latest AfSol Journal publication reveals that true conflict prevention across the continent goes far beyond reactive peacekeeping; it fundamentally depends on proactively addressing the deep-rooted governance deficits within member states. Focusing heavily on the synergy between the Country Structural Vulnerability and Resilience Assessment (CSVRA) and the African Peer Review Mechanism (APRM), the study exposes how fragmented policy responses and uncoordinated institutional efforts directly weaken structural stability and fuel political crises. Ultimately, the publication makes a compelling case for an integrated early-warning approach, arguing that to truly safeguard state resilience, the African Union must move past isolated, voluntary assessments and instead unify these powerful frameworks to ensure both democratic accountability and sustainable peace.
